Dr. Shields named Sports Ethics
Fellow

Dr. David Shields was named a Sports Ethics Fellow by the Institute for International Sport in
conjunction with the 2007 National Sportsmanship Day.
Dr. Shield's nomination was
put forward by the Positive Coaching Alliance at Stanford University and confirmed by the University of Rhode
Island's Institute for International Sport, the sponsor of
National Sportsmanship Day.
The Institute for
International Sport and the Positive Coaching Alliance at
Stanford University selected 19 individuals to be honored as the
2007 Sports Ethics Fellows. These Sports Ethics Fellows
demonstrated admirable leadership in the areas of fair play and
sportsmanship. Sports Ethics Fellows include nationally known
individuals, as well as others who have engaged in developing
sportsmanship and honorable competition on a local scale.
