Research and Presentations

Current Projects:

  • 2006 Characterplus conference: The coalition will sponsor a "sports and character" day in conjunction with the regular 2006 Summer Characterplus conference.

  • Sports and Character Awareness Day: In Spring 2006, the coalition is planning an awareness day in which schools will be encouraged to focus on the theme of sport and character.

  • Youth Sport Summit: Next Fall, the plans are to contact the heads of major youth sports organizations throughout Missouri, inviting them to a "youth sport summit" that will craft and endorse a set of core principles. The summit will serve three main objectives: expand the coalition; increase dialogue within and across youth-serving sports organizations regarding effective strategies for promoting character and citizenship; and, publicity.
