Kent Farnsworth

Dr. Kent A. Farnsworth serves as Community College President in Residence and Endowed Professor of Community College Leadership for the University of Missouri – St. Louis. His Bachelor of Arts degree is in Political Science from Brigham Young University, and he holds Mater of Arts degrees in International Relations from California State University – Sacramento, and in Guidance and Counseling from Truman State University. His Doctorate is in Mass Communication from the University of Iowa.

Dr. Farnsworth joined the University faculty after twenty-nine years of higher education administrative and leadership service – nineteen as President of Crowder College in Missouri. He is a former member of the Board of Directors for the American Association of Community Colleges and past Chair of the Missouri State Humanities Council. He has
received the National CEO Leadership Award from the American Association of Community College Trustees and in 1989 was named one of “America’s Transformational Leaders in Higher Education” by the League for Innovation. In 2003, Dr. Farnsworth received the Warner Kubsch Award from Community Colleges for International Development, for Outstanding Achievement in International Education
